The aim of this paper is to present the activities of the European Investment Bank in the Union and in African countries, with a particular focus on climate commitments. The first part presents the Bank's history, objectives and the products and services offered. The second part discusses the initiatives taken by the EIB to address climate catastrophe. Examples of investments that implement the Bank's climate strategy, both in EU countries and in Africa, are also cited.

One of the main objectives of the European Union is to provide every possible assistance to less developed countries. Economic progress means that there are ever greater disparities in living standards between Europeans and the inhabitants of developing countries. One such country is Africa. The European Union's activities in relation to Africa focus mainly on resolving various conflicts. These include conflicts between African states, such as tribal struggles and civil wars. The European Union wants to ensure that African countries protect human rights, introduce the rule of law, democracy, assistance and supervision in elections. It provides economic aid and strives to develop the education of children and young people, because it is they who will introduce the democratic rule of law in their countries in the future.
